Terms of Service

Simple Terms, Plain Language
We wrote these terms to be readable by a 16-year-old, not a lawyer.
The Short Version
Aunty Mimi is here to help, not to judge. Use the platform honestly, be kind to others in the community, and always check with a real healthcare provider for your final health decisions. That's the spirit of everything below.
1. Who We Are
Ask Aunty Mimi is a free, anonymous sexual and reproductive health information platform for young Zambians aged 15–35. We exist to make accurate, non-judgmental health information accessible to everyone — regardless of location, background, or what questions you're too shy to ask a doctor.
Important: Ask Aunty Mimi is not a medical provider, clinic, hospital, or health authority. We are an information and navigation service, not a substitute for professional healthcare.
2. What Aunty Mimi Is
Aunty Mimi is your health navigation companion. Here is what she can do for you:
General Health Information
Accurate, evidence-based information on sexual and reproductive health topics sourced from WHO and the Zambia Ministry of Health.
Clinic Finder
Help you find nearby clinics, youth-friendly health facilities, and specialist services across Zambia.
Educational Content
Articles, explainers, and resources to help you understand your body, your rights, and your options.
Health Tracking Tools
A private, on-device period, pill, and mood tracker to help you understand your own cycle and health patterns.
3. What Aunty Mimi Is Not
It is important to understand Aunty Mimi's boundaries clearly:
Not a substitute for professional medical care
Mimi's responses are not diagnoses, prescriptions, or medical advice. She is not a doctor.
Not a crisis line
While we connect you to crisis lines and emergency numbers, Aunty Mimi herself cannot respond in real-time to emergencies. If you are in danger, call 116 or 990 immediately.
Not a law enforcement tool
We do not share information with police, government authorities, or any third party without your explicit consent and a valid legal process.
Not a database of your information
We do not store your identity, chat history, or health data on our servers. See our Privacy Policy.
4. Medical Disclaimer
Please Read Carefully
All content on this platform — including AI chat responses, articles, and educational materials — is provided for informational purposes only. It does not constitute and should not be interpreted as medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for any health concerns, medical decisions, or before starting, stopping, or changing any treatment or medication.
In a medical emergency: Call 990 or go immediately to your nearest hospital emergency department.
5. Acceptable Use
By using Ask Aunty Mimi, you agree to the following:
Use the platform for genuine health information needs — your own health or supporting someone you care about.
Do not attempt to extract information with the intention to harm others or exploit vulnerable individuals.
Do not use the platform to harass, bully, or abuse other community members.
Do not submit false or malicious GBV reports. False reporting undermines survivors and harms the integrity of support systems.
Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the platform's AI features for purposes unrelated to health information.
We reserve the right to take action against misuse, including restricting access to the platform, without obligation to explain or provide notice.
6. Community Standards
The peer community is a safe space. Everyone who comes here is looking for help, answers, or connection. Treat them the way you'd want to be treated if you were scared and looking for answers at 2 AM.
Be Kind
Offer support, not judgment. You don't know someone else's circumstances.
Be Anonymous
Protect your own privacy and never try to identify others.
The following are not tolerated in our community:
Hate speech
HIV status stigma
Homophobia
Gender discrimination
Tribal discrimination
Religious judgment
Content that violates these standards may be removed. Repeat or severe violations may result in access being restricted.
7. Intellectual Property
All platform content, design, code, and branding is owned by Ask Aunty Mimi. Health information is responsibly sourced from:
Sharing is allowed. You may share individual responses and educational content for personal health purposes, to help a friend, or for community health education — provided you credit Ask Aunty Mimi and do not use the content commercially.
8. Limitation of Liability
We build and maintain Ask Aunty Mimi in good faith, working hard to ensure content is accurate and the platform is reliable. However:
- We cannot guarantee the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated responses. AI can make mistakes.
- We are not liable for decisions made on the basis of platform content. Your health decisions should be made in consultation with qualified healthcare providers.

We genuinely care about your wellbeing. This section exists to be legally transparent — not because we don't take your health seriously. We absolutely do.
9. Governing Law
